A fixed point in a moving life
Navy families arrive in Hampton Roads knowing few names and fewer streets, and a good salon is one of the first anchors a new duty station gets. Crystal Nails has held that role for more than 25 years: family-owned, run by the same two owners who work the floor, under fifteen minutes from Naval Station Norfolk and about twelve from JEB Little Creek.
The salon sits on International Blvd in central Norfolk, five minutes from the airport. If you have just landed a PCS move, we are one of the easier first errands to get right.
Hours that fit the watch bill
We open at 9:30, six days a week, and take walk-ins all day. Come off a mid, come before a duty day, come Saturday morning before the commissary run. Appointments are honored promptly for those who prefer a set time; a quick call ahead on the drive over means no waiting either way. Weekdays before 3 PM are the calmest stretch.
What you will find
A color wall of more than 500 polishes, Norfolk's largest selection. Ombre pink and white as the house specialty, along with dip powder, acrylics, nail art, and a four-tier pedicure menu that ends in mineral Onsen soaks and pearl powder. Waxing and lash services are done in a private room. We also do nails for kids and teens, ages 5 and up, so the whole household is covered in one stop.
Ship to shore, without ceremony
Homecomings, deployments, graduations at the base theater: these are the weeks guests tell us about, and we treat them with care and no fuss. Whatever brings you in, the standard is the same, immaculate instruments, unhurried hands, and a finish that lasts.
While you are off base
New duty station, new city to learn. Ocean View Beach Park is 11 minutes from the salon, the Virginia Zoo is 15, and Harbor Park, home of the Tides, is 14, all easy add-ons to a fresh set on a Saturday. The wider list, with drive times from our door, is on the Hampton Roads page.
